How Linked-in is your LinkedIn?

Between tweets, Facebook updates, Instagram snapshots… it’s easy to forget about your LinkedIn status.

Thankfully, this handy guide from SalesForce can help your LinkedIn profile informative, engaging, and seen by the right audience with just a few simple steps:

1. Think about the information you’re about to post. Share breaking news, industry trends, and sneak peeks. And keep your update short—limiting your post to 50 characters could increase engagement by 28 percent.

2. Include a call-to-action. Add a link to your update to drive people to a blog post, website—anywhere you like.

3. Make sure the right people see your update. Narrow your audience by industry, location, role, or company size.

And once a conversation is started, make sure to join in!

Our own, Judy Brumley, received a Marketing Innovation Award last week!

2013 AIA Award - Judy Brumley 2

Recognized for Creative Integrated Marketing Solutions, Judy was presented with an Application Innovation Award (AIA) at the annual PIP Sales Forum event earlier this month. The AIA recognizes marketing consultants who develop innovative solutions to solve customer challenges. The entry process requires marketing consultants to submit detailed reports that outline the challenge their customer faced, the marketing solution they devised for the client, and the results of the marketing solution. Judy’s entry was one of five finalists. Selected by a vote of peers, Judy took First Place!

Understanding Growth

Understanding Growth

In the spirit of the first day of Spring (finally!) we though we would share this insightful blog about growth expectations for our companies or ourselves…

Author, Megan Auman, founded Designing an MBA in 2009 to help entrepreneurs and small businesses develop their business skills. She speaks to herself and to readers about big dreams vs. unrealistic expectations in hopes of avoiding frustration and burned out feeling many begin to feel when just starting out. Although a little blunt, these few reminders Auman has pointed out are very true and could be very helpful to our entrepreneurial readers:

  • There is a limit to the amount a one-person company can grow
  • You need to match your growth expectations to your lifestyle choices
  • You won’t make a full-time income running your business part-time
  • Money makes growth happen faster
  • Growth requires a plan, not just a dream

Take a moment to visit this post and browse through Megan’s blog, Designing an MBA, and follow our Marketing board on Pinterest for other cool & helpful resources!

Happy Spring!!

Exciting News!

Not one, but TWO of our Sales Representatives from PIP Burlington received a Top Performer Award for Sales Excellence of 2012!

This award is presented annually to recognize top achievers in the PIP franchise network, and this year Judy Brumley of PIP Burlington was one of only 26 salespeople who received Gold Level status and Lee Whitaker of PIP Burlington was one of only 30 Platinum Level recipients!

Both awards were presented at this year’s annual Sales Forum event in Dallas, sponsored by Franchise Services, Inc., a parent company of PIP. From March 6th through March 9th, participants engaged in various sessions with keynote speakers, a vendor show, and the awards dinner.

Congratulations to Judy and Lee! We’re so proud!!
